Meet Aaron Phillips

I took a shine to the alto sax in 5th grade. In junior high school I obtained a copy of Weezer’s first album, my life was forever changed and I became obsessed with rock music. I then began an exhaustive search for all forms of rock music featuring woodwinds – from Jethro Tull to Morphine to the Flock and I was hooked on making these sounds. In an epic left-brain, right-brain struggle I majored in Chemistry at WVU, did a doctorate in chemistry at UC Berkeley, followed by a postdoc at Genentech in San Francisco amidst playing all sorts of instruments (sax/flute/guitar/bass/keys) with all sorts of groups (jam/rock/jazz/folk & even a bit of disco). Science brought me to St. Jude where I jumped at the chance to rock for a cause with the Mighty Electric.
